This is Sparta: Visitor Information Center of Laconia

POLITIA 90,7 radio station, along with the collaboration of the website apela.gr and other media, host a radio marathon for the creation of a Visitor Information Center, in the center of Sparta, to achieve the promotion of Sparta, Evrotas, Mystras, Mani, Gytheio, Elafonisos, Neapoli, Monemvasia, Geraki, Taugetus and Parnonas. Aside from information, at the same place, traditional products of Laconia, such as olive oil, olives, oranges (orange juice), honey, wine and many more will be displayed and merchandised.
In the Visitor Information Center there will be modern means of display, iPhone applications, maps, books with the history of Sparta, Mystras and other historical regions, videos and photos of high definition. Restaurateurs and groups of visitors will be able to hire guides, drivers for excursions, escorts and more, in the Visitor Information Center. There shall be workers who will take care of the hygiene and the CE of the archeological sites, where needed. Its operation will be under the support of the church for the promotion of religion tourism and it will  be at cooperation with all the municipalities of Laconia, the associations and the Peloponnese region.
In short we will organize and utilize the present tourism, we will promote and show to our visitors whatever is that we possess today. We will teach them our history and tell the tale of every region. Through the multilingual tourist website that will be created, we will attract more tourists, visitors and schools so that in a few years when the new archeological museum of Sparta will be complete, we will be able to welcome them.
It’s time for us to do what has not been done until today. We love our homeland and we would like to be worthy of our ancestors.

Remember us… said Leonidas and his 300 with their last breath… REMEMBER US!!!
